Erica is an active teaching artist and vocal and acting coach.

 

"I believe in artistic educational spaces that are collaborative, consensual, inclusive, and accessible and base all of my work in grounded storytelling. Every storyteller has a unique lens through which they experience the world and my goal is to help them find their creative voice through their craft. I also believe in responsive, adaptive teaching. While I work tirelessly to create environments that are inclusive of all abilities, genders, races, cultures, and beliefs, I also understand that, sometimes, the best laid plans need to be thrown out the window.

Erica has worked as a teaching artist, curriculum developer, and program facilitator with multiple organizations including the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University, New York City Center, Arts Ignite (formerly ASTEP), Bridge Arts Ensemble, Musical Mentors Collaborative, the University of California - Irvine, and The Broadway Collective, designing in-person and virtual workshops, residencies, and programs, working to develop artists from pre-Kindergarten through pre-Professional. For Arts Ignite, Erica designed the I/magine program—making “art spectators into art makers”—and facilitated a pilot of the program in spring 2022 at Humanities Preparatory Academy in New York City.

 

As a coach, Erica has worked with both emerging talent as well as established, working actors, particularly in the areas of audition preparation and self-taping.

 

Erica has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Musical Theatre from the University of Miami and a Master of Arts in Sociology from Arizona State University. She has certifications in Diversity and Inclusion for Organizational Excellence from the Executive Education program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, Consent for the K-12 Arts Classroom from Intimacy Directors and Coordinators, and Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid from the National Alliance for Mental Health.
